poor sd picture quality

I am using a 55 cm led tv with airtel dth but the quality of sd channels is poor. What is the reason ?

First of all, Airtel SD Channels PQ is just average.

Airtel Picture and Audio Quality is much superior to any operator. I have 42 inch LED and each channel has flawless transmission (barring ones being run in poor quality from broadcaster side). Specially HD channels r a treat to watch in airtel

SD channels quality will be awesome only in 14 inch CRT tv.... I have 14 inch CRT tv where picture quality looks awesome....

Same channel if I play in my 40 inch LED tv then it will be poor....

I hv lg 4K 43" and bcoz tv has noise reduction and other enhancing features so these sd channels looks great but i wud give extra marks to tatasky because in that every channel by default looks great. Tatasky picture quality is great and airtel audio quality is great

Tata Sky uses deblocking to smoothen frames hence u might notice less pixellation but picture will be less sharp or washy. In airtel picture quality is sharp & above all channels r allocated adequate bitrate

Even on a 55 cm led tv it will look bad ,it's at 360 p..Older crt tvs are excellent for sd content.But ,sd looks really bad on led tvs.
Try adjusting picture option of tv(contrast,sharpness etc).
