The trailer of Rajinikanth starrer film Kochadaiiyaan was unveiled on 9 September and within a day of its release, it has got almost a million views.

After three long years, Rajinikanth is returning with a film and it seems the fans of the Southern superstar are loving the younger and ripped avatar of the actor. Not only that many from the Indian film fraternity also took to Twitter to express how thrilled they are to watch the trailer of Kochadaiiyaan.

The 1.24 minute-long trailer of the film showcases the star in a bare-chested war-attire riding a horse, sword-fighting in a battle-field and doing some acrobatics.

Compared to all his films of the past, the star is not in flesh and blood, but in a form that is digitally created using motion and performance capture. There is even a big spectacle song and dance sequence which bears the classic Rajini style – the unmistakable swing, swagger and smile.

Deepika Padukone who is also in the film doesn’t feature in the first trailer but will be seen in the second one. Padukone who plays a princess, Vadhana Devi, in the film is also going to be Rajini’s onscreen lady love.

The soundtrack by AR Rahman will be released in October.

Media reports claim that if all go according to plan than the film might release on 12 December, which is also the birthday of Rajinikanth. However, whether Rajinikanth’s virtual avatar will match the success of the real one remains to be seen.
