SAB Group through its subsidiary companies Sri Adhikari Brothers Television Network and TV Vision has entered into an understanding with Pantel Technologies to jointly create a bouquet of over 20 free to air (FTA) channels across diverse genres like entertainment, kids, infotainment, mythology, movie and music channels. Pantel had recently acquired the direct to home (DTH) business of Reliance Communications along with Veecon Media and Television. The company said that the partnership will lead to the creation of India’s largest FTA network. The two companies are tapping into the large rural TV market, which has shown a rapid growth ever since BARC India started reporting rural ratings. Currently, SAB Group owns and operates five channels Mastiii, Dabangg, Maiboli, Dillagi, and Dhamaal Gujarat. Pantel Technologies is an information technology and communication services company selling tablet PCs under the brand Penta T-Pad across India, South East Asia, Gulf, and Africa. Commenting on the partnership, SAB Group MD Markand Adhikari said, “SAB Group has laid down the foundation in content creation since the inception of media in India and has profound expertise and understanding of content. With technological capabilities of Pantel Technologies, our dream to provide the right mix of content to the entire nation will be fulfilled.” Pantel Technologies CMD Vijendra Singh said, “Our main aim is to develop the entertainment appetite of the rural market and create an alternative India. Currently, devoid of good quality content and with our coalition with SAB Group, we will bring together our technological proficiency and their content expertise thereby enabling us to provide good content for rural India.”
