How will this channel be distinguished from existing Malayalam Christian channels like Harvest, Shalom, Goodness and AY TV? What special shows will it offer? Does each church of Kerala have its own channel?

And why does Kerala have so many Christian channels despite the Hindu and Muslim population being much more?

Shekinah is planning to air news bulletins in addition to religious programmes.
Almost all denominations got channels, some got more than 1 channel.
Main reason is availability of funds, mainly foreign funds.

Facing a credibility crisis, Kerala’s Catholic Church launches TV channel to spread ‘positive news’.
Shekinah TV went on air on April 28. The channel beams advertisement-free news, current affairs and entertainment programmes which its promoters claim are designed to spread “messages of unity, holiness, hope and knowledge”. It also airs church-related news bulletins at regular intervals and a special English bulletin at night. Shekinah means “divine presence” in Hebrew.
