The BJP activists on Friday put a slipper garland on Simalabaran’s cutout at MR Theatre in Tambaram, Chennai. It objected a few scenes in Vaanam claiming that it hurts the Hindus. The fans who had come to watch Vaanam, were disappointed and protested against such indecent act from the political party.
Meanwhile, Silambarasan’s fans assembled in front of the theatre and shouted slogans against the BJP. Another group of fans even went to the Saffron party’s head office in T Nagar and demanded apology from the party.
Later, cops intervened to resolve the issue, but they were forced to arrest close to 50 members when things were going out of control.. However, Simbu’s father said that the movie does not hurt the sentiments of the Hindus and it has good message to the society.
