Sony Pictures Networks India has issued a disconnection notice to direct-to-home (DTH) operator Reliance Digital TV.

The notice has been issued due to the non-payment of outstanding subscription fee by the DTH operator for Sony, Ten and TV Today Network channels, and the non-renewal of subscription agreement for Sony and TV Today channels.

Sony Pictures Networks Distribution owns and operates a fleet of 17 SD channels and 14 HD channels. It also distributes TV Today channels including India Today TV, Aaj Tak, Tez and Delhi Aaj Tak.

According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Reliance Digital TV had a 2% share of the total active subscriber base, as on 31 March 2017.
