They have declared all these channels as pay channels and want to see what is demand for them when they become pay,it is just experiment done jointly by all the four broadcasters if this is unsuccessful they will bid for them again and make them in free mode.It is matter of time we will see at least 50-60 channels becoming free channels in just 8-12 months.I am expecting mostly info SD channels becoming free and many SD channels rate crashing to Rs 5 to 9 range from Rs19 today.That time every body who is saying it is bad decision by Trai will say why Trai has not done it before,same thing is told by Jawahar Goel DishTV owner that the way call rates were Rs17 per minute have become almost free,the channel rates are going forward towards that regime only

in post TRAI order Implementation world, being FTA is not enough for a channel to succeed. Having a slot on DD Free Dish matters because there is no NCF involved. Even if a channel is FTA and available on pay DTHs, rural areas will never subscribe them because of high NCF
