Malayalam DPO 2 has 199 channels for ₹199, that's ₹1/channel. But if you look deep, at least 150 unwanted channels are there for an average Malayali.

Majority unwanted channels are FTA and for those they are not charging additional 20rs, so no loss for us. In DPO packs they only included very preferable pay channels in each language.
@amarnathkvk bro Tamil DPO 1 costs rs 200pm(rounded) and if we choose strictly tamil channels they provided in that pack at its original cost then the price will be 230+
Rs 30 saves here. So u can just addon the left tamil channels(jaya etc). Also If they add those channels in dpo packs not expect any discounts currently and price may go higher.

bro purchasing jaya isnt a problem here, purchasing PT is a problem which is an FTA channel!

if we choose tamil dpo1 pack we need to add Zee tamil - 10+ PT + 9

168 + 10 + 9 + 18% = 220

For Bengali it is the cheapest pack. But only Boisakhi TV missing....

But as per dpo 1 it costs 168.4+11+9+10+gst=234+ along some more pay channels .Unless Other dths didn't offer discounts more than Sun we can't blame their dpo packs.

I agree.But this problem is not a new thing. Anyway we can consider this as a test phase and surely in future price will go down both from broadcasters and operators side.
