Ten Sports earns around $9 million a year from its television production business and is looking at scaling it up.

Ten Sports produces Goal tv 1 and 2 for Hong Kong based Yes tv and Cricone for Art in the Middle East as well as for its own channels.

"We earn around $9 million a year from our production activities. We plan to ramp it up," Ten Sports CEO Atul Pande told Indiantelevision.com.

Ten Sports expects to bag two new production contracts, Pande added.

Looking for new business has been to some extent driven by the fact that Willow TV, the US based cricket channel, did production work for its coverage of the Pakistan versus New Zealand series. It will also use in-house resources for the World Cup.

Earlier, Willow TV used to have a production arrangement with Ten Sports. It had been using Ten Sports for scheduling, transmission, production and satellite space. However, it has now decided to take the work in-house rather than continue using the Dubai facility.

Pande said there is a chance that Willow TV might came back for the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Earlier Ten Sports' previous client and Singapore cable operator Starhub cancelled the football channel contract in August when they lost the English Premier League (EPL) rights. They replaced the football channel by starting a racket sports channel, which was outsourced to IMG's production arm.
