MUMBAI: &TV, the upcoming Hindi general entertainment channel from Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL), has unveiled the time slots of two of its fiction shows.
The channel, which will launch on 2 March, will have historical show ‘Razia Sultan’ at 7.30 pm while ‘Begusarai’ is slotted for 10 pm. Both the shows will air from Monday to Friday.
Produced by Swastik Productions, ‘Razia Sultan’ is the tale of Princess Razia, who was the first and the only woman emperor of the Delhi Sultanate and rose in ranks on her own merit. The show will portray the progressiveness in the thought process and the grandeur of the era, highlighting every nuance and intricacy involved. The set of this period drama has been designed by Omung Kumar.
At 7.30 ‘Razia Sultan’ will have to fight for eyeballs with slot leader Star Plus’ ‘Ye Hai Mohabbatein’ and Colors’ ‘Sasural Simar Ka’. Sibling channel Zee TV airs ‘Hello Pratibha’.
Meanwhile, clearly to attract more male audiences, the channel has kept Saragama Productions’ ‘Begusarai’ at 10 pm. It is story of a land beyond the law of the land.
Prosperous in its own right, living within the boundaries of age-old traditions, this almost forgotten township of today’s India has a powerful story to tell—of Thakurs, outlaws of the land. As the channel claims, a larger-than-life canvas with characters full of quirks, ‘Begusarai’ is full of drama and a refreshing dialect with a preview into the real and rustic India.
The 10 pm band is ruled by Colors’ ‘Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi’. Other shows in the same slot are Zee TV’s ‘Satrangi Sasural’, Star Plus’ ‘Everest’, Sony Entertainment Television’s (SET) ‘Maharana Pratap’ and SAB’s ‘Yam Hai Hum’.
