Zee Media Corporation Ltd (ZMCL) is
planning to launch a new business news channel,
chief executive officer Ashish Kirpal Pandit has
revealed.

“We are in a planning and setting-up stage right
now. As things stabilise and as we firm up our
plans, we will certainly let you know,” Pandit told
CNBC TV18.

the regional space by launching a slew of
channels like Zee Madhya Pradesh Chhattisgarh
(regional Hindi), Zee Marudhara (Hindi for
Rajasthan), Zee Kalinga (Oriya) and Zee Purvaiya
(Bihar and Jharkhand). In Bihar and Jharkhand,
the company entered by acquiring Prakash Jha-
promoted Maurya TV for Rs 7.79 crore (Rs 77.92
million).

Zee Media is planning to raise Rs 200 crore (Rs
2 billion) via rights issue for purchase of
equipment and accessories for production and
broadcasting; repayment of certain loans availed
by the company; funding subsidiaries for
repayment of loans; and other general corporate
purposes.
