They only give extension to beg broadcaster to keep them live in their platform look tatasky they removed all the channels which not pay carriage fee at due date.its called brave desition .they give pressure on broadcaster to pay carriage fee on time otherwise their channel will be removed ..

Same happens across ops, extension is given if ch gives carriage fee.. Currently many chs only renewing for short period bcoz of revenue crunch

Also operator as well as broadcasters need to b flexible in arriving at mutually agreeable terms else problems arise.... In my experience airtel is best at negotiating with broadcasters and thereby serving both interests properly. Earlier d2h was best but post dish acquisition things seem to have gone downwards
