Shocked that Jalsha Movies SD/HD have been flagged for divestment (sale, NOT closure) instead of Colors Bangla SD/HD and Colors Bangla Cinema, which I always thought should have been sold.
With this, Star might lose its first regional HD movie channel, and the only Bengali HD movie channel. Was this the reason Jalsha Movies never rebranded even once in the 12 years of its existence?

On the other hand, Colors Marathi SD/HD, which are also to be sold, rebranded recently in August 2024. Absolutely furious that Jalsha Movies SD/HD have to be sold but not Pravah Picture SD/HD or Colors Bangla SD/HD.
For Kannada I feel selling off Colors Super is a fair decision, and if Sony buys all these regional channels it will greatly improve its regional slate. It can buy the Hungama channels as well to give some company to Sony YAY!, since Warner Bros. Discovery will be the only other broadcaster with multiple kids’ channels (Pogo, Cartoon Network, CN HD+ and Discovery Kids) after Disney Star plus Viacom18.
I think they can buy based on their market share in the segment of channel which is being sold.Zee, Sony & Sun are not permitted to take part in the sale.
Also I don't understand what does 'sale' means?
Imagine Sony(if permitted) buying Star Jalsha Movies and running the channel with same logo and name, on the other side Star India running Star Jalsha
Along with Colors Super, Suvarna Plus also needed in the list.
Number of closing/selling channels are fewer than I expected. Sports 18 channels, Colors Tamil, Bindass etc should be there.
