2244 STB review

I already had 2222 STB from last year and ordered a new multiroom connection. Received Videocon 2244 STB. The box it was packed in says 'Model: SDHD 556-B' and 'Manufactured: June 2014'.

Comparison between 2222 (download id 18) and 2244 (download id 17)

- The remote control works brilliantly on 2244 :tup. No lags or poor response time as in 2222.
- Boot time is 3-5 seconds faster than 2222
- STB on led light is kind of cyan blue on 2244, looks cool
- Logo on right of STB is FullHD 1080P
- The '*' button on 2222 changes music presets. But its non-functioning on 2244 and there is no way to know which preset the STB is running.

Rest everything including picture quality and UI is similar to 2222.

Is the HD picture quality any different since the box says full 1080p? Since there is no 1080p from broadcasters, is it really outputting 100p?

Picture quality is similar on both STBs.

HD quality depends on bitrate feed. Sometimes the same channel looks sharp and crisp and sometimes its pixelated.

2244 can actually switch TV signal into 1080i@60hz whereas 2222 maxes out at 1080p@50hz only. If you change 2222 to 1080i@60hz it does not make any affect to TV settings and remains at 50hz. Whereas 2244 actually changes to 60hz.
