Amitabh Bachchan is known for his affinity towards the divine, hence it wasn't surprising when he produced a devotional album. But Big B went a step ahead and agreed to sing a song for the album too.

Presented by Veecon Music & Entertainment & AB Corp Ltd, the album "Shri Hanuman Chalisa", has been recorded in Amitabh's voice along with 20 other renowned singers from Bollywood. The music has been composed by Aadesh Shrivastava. This is the first time an album featuring 21 singers chanting the chalisa in different ways is being released.
This is also the first time, Amitabh has rendered his voice to a devotional song. At the launch, Aadesh said, "The album is our humble effort to familiarise the youth of this country with our ancient traditions. Proceeds from the album will go towards the education of underprivileged children and children with special needs."

The 20 other singers who have joined Big B for the album are Aadesh, Hariharan, Sonu Nigam, Suresh Wadkar, Abhijit, Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Roopkumar Rathod, Shaan, Kailash Kher, Mukul Aggarwal, Manoj Tiwari, Hansraj Hans, Prasoon Joshi, Kay Kay, Sukhwinder, Shankar Mahadevan, Babul Supriyo, Kunal Ganjawala and Vinod Rathod. The project has been conceptualised by JK Shrivastava and produced by VK Shrivastava, Lalit Shrivastava and the Veecon Group.

The music launch began by the unveiling of a majestic idol of Lord Hanuman. Later Amitabh recited the chalisa in his unique baritone. The rendition was made more enthralling with a dance performance choreographed by Shiamak Davar.
