Trivandrum: To mark the 20 years of its meaningful and responsible media practice as the prime chronicler of Kerala, Asianet News has launched a major step with a multi-episode and daily program christened ‘EntePuzha’.

The state of Kerala, also known as “Tropical Paradise”, is blessed with abundant waterways. The rivers in Kerala have been performing a pivotal role in shaping the economic and cultural prospects of Kerala. However, these rivers are undergoing serious eco-degradation throughout its course of flow. Our distorted concepts of progress, sheer ignorance and absolute avarice are digging the grave of not just our rivers but our own too. We have to wake up immediately and collectively launch a Bhageerath effort in order to stem this tide to catastrophe

EntePuzha is a fascinating journey into the history of our land, the culture and civilization of Kerala that blossomed on the banks of our great rivers. It takes you through the legends, myths, songs and fables related to our rivers, the ways in which they touched and defined the lives of generations, indigenous practices that protected them and the pluralistic cultural forms they nourished through ages.

The well-known celebrities like M T Vasudevan Nair, Sugathakumari, M Mukundan, Balachandran Chullikadu, K S Chitra, Sreevalsan J Menon, Madhu (actor), Mamukoya, Kavya Madhavan and VineethaNedungadi have joined their hands with Asianet News in this proud endeavor. It is our privilege to announce that we have associated with Kerala’s school children in this mission, as it is the coming generations, which have the greatest stake in any effort to protect our land and water. The prestigious research institution, Centre for water Resources Development and Management (CWRDM) of Kozhikode, is the program’s scientific consultant. We appeal to the students and teachers of your esteemed institution too to join hands with us.

EntePuzha on Asianet News is scheduled for telecast at 7.30 PM, all days on Asianet News from 1st December 2015 onwards.
