Asia Satellite Telecommunications Co. Ltd. (AsiaSat), Asia’s leading satellite operator, is broadcasting live television coverage of the London Olympic Games from today on multiple transponders to Asian broadcasters and viewers.
Over 10,000 athletes from 205 countries will compete in more than 300 events of the Games.
Starting from today’s Opening to the Closing ceremony on 12 August, AsiaSat satellites will be used to distribute live coverage of the Olympic Games provided by the Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) to the holders of the broadcast rights of the Games. AsiaSat capacity will also be used for contributing live video feeds of broadcasting organisations reporting from the various event locations to their studios in the Asia Pacific.
