Balika Vadhu creates history in the Indian television industry
Sphereorigins Multivision Pvt Ltd's Balika Vadhu — Kachi Umar Ke Pakke Rishte has set quite a number of records since its launch on Indian television in July 2008.
The story of a child bride that has been entertaining the audience since the past seven years has also earned critical acclaim. Now, it has become the longest running daily Hindi fiction show on TV, breaking the record of 1,833 episodes, previously set by Kyunki... Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. It is a great accomplishment that a show has crossed this number in today's time without taking a generation leap. Kyunki... Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. It is a great accomplishment that a show has crossed this number in today's time without taking a generation leap.
Says Sunjoy Waddhwa, CMD, Sphereorigins Multivision Pvt Ltd, "We are extremely happy about our show breaking this record. Balika Vadhuhas always believed in spreading awareness about social issues like child marriage, widow remarriage, educating women and more recently, crimes against women. It is a pat on our back by the audience for a job well done, and we are thankful for their undying support since the inception of the show. We look forward to setting standards in the industry for the same." He adds, "The credit goes to the entire team — our talented writers, stellar performances by actors, brilliant director, fabulous technicians, crew, diligent production team and support by the channel. We are honoured that the show was in our destiny and I am sure all the people associated with it would be sharing the same feeling."
