Srinagar, Aug 28: The government Thursday said there was no proposal for lifting ban on local cable TV channels.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who is also the Minister-In-charge Home, in a written reply, told the Legislative Assembly (LA) that the government did not intend to lift ban on local cable TV network.
The chief minister was responding to a question of MLA, Engineer Abdul Rashid Sheikh if there was any proposal to lift the ban on local cable TV network.
Cable TV network in Kashmir was banned after the Shopian rape and murder case of 2009.
