Star Plus, Sony Pal lead Hindi GEC chart in Wk 9
Star Plus maintained its lead on the Hindi GEC ladder with 78.38-crore weekly impressions in the urban + rural Hindi-speaking market (HSM), according to BARC data for the week ended 3 March.
According to the weekly comparison based on the updated universe estimate (UE), Star Plus saw a growth of 10% in its impressions.
Colors remained at the second spot with 63.49-crore weekly impressions, witnessing a minor, 0.88% drop.
Rishtey fell to the fifth position with a drop of 5.86% in its impressions, thereby allowing Sony Pal and Zee TV to grab the third and fourth positions respectively.
Zee TV witnessed a growth of 9.46% over Week 8, whereas Sony Pal registered a 7.61% hike in its weekly impressions.
Star Utsav and Sony Entertainment Television (SET) swapped positions.
Top 5 shows in U+R HSM
‘Naagin 2’ grabbed the top spot across markets. While the show took the lead in urban + rural HSM and urban HSM on Colors, in the rural markets it was the airing on Rishtey that got the top rank.
Zee TV’s two shows, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ and ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs 2017’, took the second and third places, respectively.
The telecast of ‘Naagin 2’ on the free-to-air (FTA) channel Rishtey helped the channel to grab the fifth spot. Meanwhile, SET’s ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ went out of the list, vacating the fourth spot for Star Plus’ ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata hai’.
