MUMBAI: The finale episode of the second season of ‘Bigg Boss Kannada’ on Suvarna TV has concluded with higher ratings than in its first season.
The finale grabbed eyeballs with a record 8.45 TVR compared to the 3.83 TVR of the first season’s finale, as per data provided by the production house Endemol India.
Season 2 of ‘Bigg Boss Kannada’ was hosted by Sudeep, and aired on Suvarna TV, Star Network’s Kannada general entertainment channel.
The show gained momentum and created a stir in the audiences with the current season.
Achieving popularity in the non-fiction reality category, the channel gained the number two position and the format contributed 40 per cent to the channel’s GVM, as per the data.
The show launched with 6.73 TVR versus 4.67 TVR in the previous season.
Its viewership also soared from 543 TVTs in the first season finale to 1,207 in the second, states Endemol.
Endemol India COO television Abhishek Rege said, “With each season, the show gains momentum on both national and regional television.
The constant popularity of the second season of ‘Bigg Boss Kannada’ has visibly increased.
The unpredictable format and the real emotion brought across through the show works with the audiences and the overwhelming peaking TVRs of Season 2 are proof.
With these encouraging numbers, we hope to launch more regional formats and reach out to maximum audiences down South with Tamil and Telegu versions soon and will also announce the second innings of ‘Bigg Boss Bangla’.”
