MUMBAI: Infotainment channel Discovery
Channel has tied up with Bollywood actor
Arjun Rampal for the initiative ‘Discovery
Real Heroes’.
Beginning 15 March, every night at 10 pm
viewers will embark on challenging
expeditions with ‘Discovery Real Heroes’.
Discovery Channel’s experts – Bear Grylls,
Les Stroud, Myke Hawke, Dave Canterbury
and Cody Lundin – will take viewers to the
most inhospitable and treacherous
territories to show how to survive the
toughest and most forsaken environments.
Taking viewers closer to the natural world,
wildlife presenters like Nigel Marven and
Austin Steven would risk their lives to
encounter some of the world’s most
interesting and sometimes misunderstood
creatures.
Discovery executive VP, GM South Asia and
South East Asia Rahul Johri said,
“Challenging the harsh wilderness in high-
octane, action-based and empowering
journeys, ‘Discovery Real Heroes’ are
perfect examples of endurance both in reel
and real life. 10 PM will be the new hour on
television to meet such talented men who
will inspire and demonstrate how the right
skills and some creative thinking can keep
you alive in the remote corners of the
world.”
The journey of ‘Discovery Real Heroes’ will
begin on Mondays with ‘Man Vs. Wild’. One
of the most popular adventurers on Indian
television, Bear Grylls will take on some of
the harshest terrains of the world. Chasing
thunderstorms, escaping fiery volcanoes and
scavenging deadly delicacies, he will share
some invaluable survival strategies all along
the extreme conditions.
Viewers will follow ‘Survivorman’ Les Stroud
as he travels to tough wilderness settings
and survives with little food, no water, no
gear, no safety or even a camera crew.
Former Special Forces survival expert Myke
Hawke and his television presenter wife
Ruth, presenters of ‘Man Woman Wild’ will
take on some of the most forbidding and
remote locations around the world, and will
attempt to stay alive with only one gear – a
knife.
In his new series ‘Running Wild’, Grylls will
take A-list celebrities like Zac Efron,
Channing Tatum, Ben Stiller, Tom Arnold,
Tamron Hall and Deion Sanders on the
adventures of their lives. Promising a battle
of survival, military trained Joe Teti and
naturalist Cody Lundin will struggle through
unforgiving elements of nature in Dual
Survival.
The weekends will be filled with thrill and
intrigue as Nigel Marven will count down the
deadliest snakes in different locations
around the world in ‘Ten Deadliest Snakes’.
