MUMBAI: The local cable operators (LCOs) in Nashik have got a major respite. The Bombay High Court has asked DEN Networks not to disconnect signals to the LCOs.
The HC has directed DEN to file its reply in the matter by 15 April and not to disconnect signals till the reply is filed.
However, a DEN official said that the MSO was free to disconnect signals to LCOs who had defaulted on payments.
DEN Networks’ Nashik subsidiary had last month issued public notices stating that the signals to LCOs who failed to sign interconnect agreement would be disconnected.
The Nashik Zilla Cable Operator Association, which has challenged the digital addressable system (DAS) regulations in the HC, had filed a civil application before the HC bench to restrain the MSO from giving effect to its notice.
