Ukraine's National Council for Television and Radio could turn to court again to have some of the Russian television channels banned in Ukraine "in connection with citizens' numerous complaints" about the content of television programs broadcast by them, the regulator said in a posting on its website on Tuesday.

It claimed that the content broadcast by the TV Center International, LifeNews, Russia Today and RenTV is "untrue and goes against the law."
The National Council pledged to monitor these channels before turning to court.
Reports said earlier that the National Council filed suits against the distributor of major Russian television channels, Torsat, demanding that programs of Russia's Channel One, RTR-Planeta, Russian Information Channel Rossiya 24 and NTV Mir be qualified as going against the Ukrainian legislation and the European Convention on Transfrontier Television.
These television broadcasts in Ukraine have been suspended pending monitoring. But individual providers in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions have defied the court ruling. http://m.rbth.com/news/2014/06/17/b...hannels_could_be_banned_in_ukraine_37500.html
