The Verimatrix (News - Alert) Video Content Authority System (VCAS) architecture has been picked to deliver revenue security for Aadhar Digital Vision’s new digital cable TV service in Chennai, India. Verimatrix specializes in providing solutions for securing and enhancing revenue for multi-network, multi-screen digital TV services.
ADV is a multi-system operator (MSO) and is a large consortium of cable TV operators located in Chennai. ADV strives to digitize TV content in Chennai and other cities in the state of Tamil Nadu in India.
P. Basker, managing director, ADV said, “As we move into this exciting new digitalization era, we needed a partner that could provide us with a scalable revenue security solution that can grow as we add new services and content offerings. Verimatrix is an ideal partner for us as their VCAS solution not only exceeds our technology requirements, but also because its team of experts shares our commitment to customer service and innovation.”
ADV will be using VCAS for DVB in order to secure its premium linear content library. The solution is expected to also secure revenue for broadcast services over the digitized cable network.
Plans are afoot to provide 500 digital quality channels to ADV subscribers via DVB-C set top boxes (STB). The Verimatrix cardless security solution, when deployed within the STB, will provide ADV hardware-level security and eliminates the use of physical cards.
Besides being scalable, the solution will also enable ADV to add both multi-screen and hybrid DVB-OTT services. The cardless conditional access solution will help ADV to enhance standards-based Digital Video Broadcast (DVB) technology to optimize broadcast distribution using the interactivity of IP-based networks and a single security system.
Steve Oetegenn (News - Alert), chief sales and marketing officer, Verimatrix said, “VCAS for DVB is an ideal foundation for ADV as they prepare for a multi-screen future. Our unique VCAS for DVB solution provides best-in-class conditional access for one-way networks, thereby helping ADV protect their existing network investments while they prepare for the future and create a competitive advantage.”
Verimatrix VCAS architecture has also been selected by Thamizhaga Cable TV Communication Ltd. a cable multi-service operator in India to provide cardless revenue security for its new digital cable TV service. TCCL relies on VCAS for DVB not only to secure its new digital premium content offering, but also to help promote subscriber and revenue growth.
