Such a line amplifier is used by cable operators and c band distribution, to make up for the losses happening due to a lengthy cable say of about more than 100 meters. DTH signals are not distributed more than 100m and there's no need of this amplifier. Anyway, this amplifier can't makeup for the poor signal quality caused by an inferior dish, or an inferior lnb or bad setting of the dish antenna. Whatever signal your lnb receives in that antenna only can be brought to the STB without the transmission loss caused by a lengthy cable, that's the only benefit of using a line amp. It cannot help if your dish antenna receives poor signal due to any technical lack.
