Can't program Airtel remote on new Samsung UHD tv's

I just got my new Samsung 43KU6470 UHD Tv. And, i'm really impressed by its picture quality. I also received a Samsung 2.1 channel Speaker (HW-K20) under Samsung Utsav offer.

Now my concern is:
I have an Airtel DTH HD+ connection, but i cannot program the Airtel remote to control tv volume or any other function apart from switching on the tv. I presume that new samsung smart remote doesn't emit IR signal (apart from Power button). So has anyone been able to program their dth remote with new Samsung KU series UHD tv's ?

try another samsung tv remote for configuration. All samsung remote are same.
