Starting January 10, eight teams will play 15 matches. The final will be held on February 1.

Celebrity Cricket League, an initiative combining the two most popular forms of entertainment in India - cinema and cricket - is back in its fifth edition.

CCL will kick-off on six channels on January 10. The channels include two from Viacom18 - Colors and Rishtey (the Hindi GECs) - and four from the Sun TV Network - Sun, Surya, Udaya and Gemini. Regional channels will air matches for the respective regions/teams with a minimum of three matches scheduled per channel.

The duration of each match is around four hours.
The league has roped in XXX Energy Drink as the title sponsor while Parle 20-20 cookies comes on board as associate sponsor. Karbonn is the Mobile Partner of CCL 5 while Panasonic joins as the co-presenting sponsor for the event. Hrudya Foundation is one of the CSR-Initiative partners of the event that will witness celebrities playing cricket matches against each other.

Eight teams will be playing against each other, starting January 10. A total of 15 matches will be played with the final being played on February 1. The teams are Mumbai Heroes (Bollywood - Maharashtra), Chennai Rhinos (Kollywood - Tamil Nadu), Telugu Warriors (Tollywood - Andhra Pradesh), Karnataka Bulldozers (Sandalwood - Karnataka), Kerala Strikers (Mollywood - Kerala), Bengal Tigers (Tollywood Bangla - West Bengal), Bhojpuri Dabbangs (Bhojpuri cinema - UP and Bihar) and Veer Marathi (Marathi cinema - Maharashtra).

The matches will be played in Mumbai (at the Brabourne Stadium), Hyderabad (LB Stadium), Ranchi (JSCA Stadium), Bangalore (Chinnaswamy) and Ahmedabad (Sardar Patel). The opening match will be played in Mumbai and the last one in Hyderabad.
