Too late. This should have been done 4 years ago. Zee is dominating. Even Star which has always been #1 here won't be able to dethrone them anytime soon. It's so sad that Sony Aath which offers hindi content dubbed in bengali is more popular. If Sun Bangla is properly distributed. They will eat up whatever the market share is left.

I found an old post on this topic from February.

No. ETV Bangla had lost to STAR Jalsha, ZEE Bangla, Sananda and Aakash 8 by 2011. To keep the channel alive, they handed it over to Viacom18. Colors Bangla couldn't get to the level of success like ETV Bangla got upto 2009, but still drove out Sananda, Sony Aath and Aakash 8 from 3rd position. Secondly, Viacom18 is likely to revive Colors Bangla (and also Colors Odia, probably) with new original programming by mid-2021. As @Aksgr bro told earlier.
