Comedy Central markets across South Europe and Africa.

The network aims to show how Comedy Central is the place to be for local talent who want to make a name for themselves, as happened with South African comic Trevor Noah who starred as a Roast-host on Comedy Central in South Africa and is now poised to take over Jon Stewart's chair on The Daily Show in the US.

"Developing the stand-up industry is definitely a part of our DNA at Comedy Central, and in the past few years we have been doing that successfully in Spain, Italy and Africa," said Amalia Martinez De Velasco, VP of Comedy Brands South for Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN). "This event is a great chance for our comics to get new exposure while at the same time demonstrating to other up-and-coming talents in our regions that Comedy Central supports local comics and can create opportunities for them."

South Africa will send the 'strangely sexy fat guy' Jason Goliath, and the controversial Conrad Koch with his infamous puppet, Chester Missing, to the Canadian festival, while Italy will be represented by Francesco de Carlo, who joined Comedy Central Italia in 2014, and Spain will count on Alex O'Dogherty.
