MUMBAI: Dainik Bhaskar Group founder Dwarka Prasad Agarwal’s daughter Hemlata Agarwal and chairperson of DP Agarwal Publications have ventured into television broadcasting with the launch of its Hindi news channel Bhaskar News.
Headquartered in Noida, the news channel has bureaus in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Jammu Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh. It also boasts an international bureau in the US.
Rahul Mittal is the editor-in-chief and managing director of Bhaskar News. Former IBN7 anchor Samir Abbas is the executive editor of the channel.
The free-to-air (FTA) channel was soft-launched on 15 August. The official launch date will be revealed in due course.
It may be clarified here that print media company DB Corp is not associated with the Hindi news channel. Bhaskar News is the dream project of Hemlata’s son Ashwin Vedant Agarwal.
