DD Direct Plus DTH will not need a new satellite for its expansion since already 7 Ku-band transponders are lying unused on Insat 3A at 93.5°E
Moving it to G-Sat 8 at 55.0°E will be a big problem for viewers who cannot align dishes on their own.
Some ignorant people will not even know that extra channels have been added.
Also then 2 dishes will be needed, one for Insat 4B and second for G-Sat 8
So having the DD Direct+ on co-located satellites at 93.5°E makes sense. Then the users just have to do a Blind Scan without moving dish.
