The Rajinikanth and Meena-starrer Muthu was dubbed in Japanese. But the first Tamil film that got dubbed in Japanese was Chandralekha. The 1948 film was also a high-budget movie — `30 lakhs — those days whose actual cost at current scenario will be around $29 million
