Veteran singer SP Balasubramaniam has the rare distinction of singing the maximum number of songs on a single day. He recorded 21 songs in Kannada for composer Upendra Kumar, from 9 am to 9 pm on February 8, 1981. He has also sung 19 songs in Tamil and 16 songs in Hindi in a day.
