Digitization Phase 2 - Ease in buying a DTH connection

As one of my friend had to face blackout of cable tv after the digitization deadline and soon the government is going to roll out phase 2 covering 38 towns I thought I'd share my friend's experience with you. Like my friend I am sure there are many who may wait for the last minute to go ahead and buy a set top box without any research. It maybe simply out of inertia that we do not want to get into a whole process of shifting to DTH from cable. As my friend was left with a blank screen after Nov 1st, he had no option but to call the cable operator and ask them to get a set top box. First they did go to the entire building asking for Rs. 800 for installing a set top box. He denied as he thought they were just upto making money and Digitization was just a hoax. After deadline on calling the cable guys up they increased their rate to Rs. 1200. He was shocked and asked them how come the rates have gone up all of a sudden? The cable guys made up something that it was penalty for not installing it before deadline. Was he implied to buy from Cable TV providers to be charged a penalty? Without second thought he went online to find the best DTH provider. He found out that Tata Sky had good reviews and nice offers and as I too have Tata Sky's connection and am pretty much satisfied with their service and offerings I recommended him to go for Tata Sky. So he thought he should rather go for a trusted company who will provide good service. He instantly placed an order for their base box and was extremely happy to have the entire connection set tup within 48 hours. So it is better to avail good service and smooth buying process rather then being cheated by the cable operators.

I will share the Pro's of infact DTH over cable:

This Threat was way better than useless Hoax news related to GSAT 10 and its threats.

Dino a simple question for you why you want every threat must be closed or have bad opnion about it.

You want only your threats to be open and to give info about you, already being banned by two forums which i remember.
