RIP Director Balachander
Veteran filmmaker K. Balachander, who has
been hospitalised due to fever and some age-
related ailments, was on Tuesday shifted to
intensive care unit for further treatment. Kauvery Hospital in Chennai, where the ace
director was undergoing treatment, issued a
statement on Tuesday, in a bid to end rumours
of his health condition. The Press Note signed by the Director of
Medical Services said: "Veteran film director Mr.
K. Balachander, 84 years, has developed urinary
tract infection and admitted to the ICU for
further treatment. "He is critical but his general condition is
stable. He is ably managed by a team of senior
doctors." Several film personalities including actors
Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan visited their
mentor.
