MUMBAI: Infotainment broadcaster
Discovery Networks International executive
VP, chief creative officer Phil Craig has
greenlit five new series and specials. They
cover natural history, engineering, survival,
science and aviation.

The shows will air globally this year and
next year in more than 220 countries and
territories.

‘Terror In The Skies: Air Asia And Beyond’
airs this year. This is a documentary about
the ill-fated Air Asia flight 8501 last
December where passengers and crew
members died. The show looks at
technology aimed at preventing further
tragedies recurring.

Meanwhile, ‘Engine Addict With Jimmy De
Viile’ also airs this year. It follows the
engineer tracking engines in order to
repurpose them. He has spent his life doing
this. He travels to several countries
including India.

‘Lost And Starving’ airs next year. It aims to
mix adventure, survival and food. The series
features British chef and restaurateur Matt
Tebbutt with Kiwi survivalist and alpha male
Josh James to challenge not only their
survival and culinary skills, but also one
another.

‘The Brainy Bunch’ looks at personalities
and minds behind breakthroughs in science,
technology and medicine. They created the
impossible and changed how we live.
Meanwhile, ‘Life Of Dogs’ is Discovery
Networks International’s major natural
history commission. It explores the natural
history of dogs.
