Discovery Kids expands reach in Sri Lanka through deal with Dialog TV
MUMBAI: Expanding its footprint in Sri Lanka, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific has announced that its kids channel Discovery Kids will now be available on Sri Lankan satellite television services provider Dialog Television.
Discovery Kids aims to offer children a fun and entertaining way to satisfy their natural curiosity and explore their world with programming. The target audience for Discovery Kids is children between four to 14 years and their parents.
The core values of Discovery Kids in Asia-Pacific include being transformative (by providing an immersive world that sparks wonder and curiosity), smart (by giving creative surprises for enquiring minds), playful (by stimulating learning and imagination in a fun and innovative way), and educational (by creating a trusted atmosphere for engaged learning).
Discovery Kids is a key channel to strengthen the existing kid’s genre by providing a wholesome edutainment aspect for the kids. Dialog TV supports seven networks of Discovery in the country including Discovery Channel, Discovery HD World, TLC and Animal Planet. Discovery senior VP, GM South Asia Rahul Johri who is also head of revenue, pan-regional ad sales and Southeast Asia said, “We have seen great demand for our networks in the South Asia region and are thrilled to be able to continue the network’s momentum with this international expansion.
