NEW DELHI: Direct-to-home operator Dish TV expects its video streaming application 'DishOnline' to contribute 20-25 per cent of revenue in the next two to three years.
The application allows a customer to view programme on smartphones, tablets and laptops.
"We expect that this section would scale rapidly and would cover 20-25 per cent of our revenue from this section," Dish TV India Chief Executive Officer R C Venkateish told PTI.
He added it would be a "trend changer" in the DTH industry and within next five six months, around five per cent of its revenue would come from this section.
"Around 5 per cent of our base would be opting for this new service," he said, adding that the subscriber now want to move from single TV screen to multi-screen format.
Through DishOnline, launched the last week, a customer can view programme on devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops.
Dish TV claimed that it has an active subscriber base of 11 million customers.
On some DTH players changing their format from MPEG 2 to MPEG4, Venkateish said that Dish TV has enough space and there was no need to change the format.
"We have the largest numbers of transponders available for us. We are beaming over 400 channels and there is no capacity constraint with us," he said.
Through 'DishOnline', the company wants to tap subscribers who want to watch their favourite shows and programmes even when on the move.
Dish TV has launched two online packages -- one which would have all live channels, movies and shows; and the other movies, shows and videos -- at introductory offer of Rs 69 and Rs 29, respectively.
The company said its video streaming service will also be available on the smartphones with 2G connections.
The DishOnline app is currently available for existing Dish TV subscribers for Android and iOS devices.
