MUMBAI: Public broadcaster Doordarshan has been asked to conduct interviews with ministers and expert panels who will explain the reach and benefits that the government schemes have yielded.
The move comes as the Narendra Modi government gets ready to celebrate its first anniversary. The Prime Minister and the ministries will also use social media platforms to reach out to people in the course of these celebrations.
“Doordarshan has sent its teams to remote villages to bring back videos of people talking about how Skill India or Jan Dhan Yojana have transformed their lives.
The biggest attempt of the programme is to crush the image that the government is pro-corporate.
The theme of our campaign will be to show how the government policies are in the best interest of rural India,” an official told the Economic Times.
Doordarshan is expected to start showing programmes about the government’s achievements from 15 May through 26 May
