Hello everyone,

We’re thrilled to announce a significant update to our forum’s appearance. As many of you are aware, our forums have been offering a dark theme option till now, but it was reliant on third-party themes. Today, we’re excited to introduce native dark mode support!

As a wise one once said, “If Once You Start Down The Dark Path, Forever Will It Dominate Your Destiny.” Embrace the allure of the dark side with our new native dark mode! 🖤🖤

What does this mean for you?

Well, the native dark mode is designed to sync seamlessly with your device’s dark mode settings. So, if you’re using a dark theme on your Android, iOS, or Windows devices, our forums will automatically switch to dark mode, providing a consistent and comfortable viewing experience.

But that’s not all! If you prefer, you can manually select either the light or dark mode in your account preferences. Once set, your chosen theme will persist, regardless of changes to your device’s system settings.

The XenBase theme codebase has also been updated to the latest standards and now has a native dark mode functionality.

Sync our forum mode with your device settings

To synchronize the forum theme mode with your device settings, simply scroll down towards the bottom of the page and click on the ‘Style variation’ button, then select ‘System’. Alternatively, you can visit the Style variation page and select ‘System’. If you have a preference for Light or Dark mode regardless of your system settings, you can also make your selection there.

An update to the style variation system was rolled out today.

Guest visitors (non-logged-in users) will now be served with the Light mode variation by default. The automated device-based detection will continue to work for the logged-in members. Guest visitors can still manually switch to the Dark mode variation as they want.

This change was done because guest visitor's preferences are not stored in our system and some users get annoyed when they are served with a dark mode UI when they freshly visit a website.
