Hello everyone,

I’ve been a long-time customer of ADTV. Previously, I had the HD box, which was great, especially for the EPG—as it displayed program names accurately.

When the Airtel Xstream Box (first model) was launched, I upgraded right away, and initially, the EPG used to work just fine.

However, for much more than a year now with my Airtel Xstream Box 3 (silver version), the EPG has been a major disappointment. Most channels don’t display the program names. On movie channels, for instance, it just says “movie” with no further details.

Back when I used Tata Sky (>17 years back, before switching to DishTV, followed by ADTV), I had the best experience with their EPG. It provided accurate program names and synopses on all channels, and for Hindi GECs, it even showed detailed episode-wise summaries. It was fantastic!

So, my question is: is this problem only in Airtel Xstream Box or is it the same in all the boxes of Airtel? If it is the same everywhere, who’s responsible for this issue? Is it Airtel neglecting EPG updates, or is it usually done by the broadcasters? I’d appreciate your insights!

Airtel won't be the brand people generally name, when it comes to consumer oriented services and operation.

This is only a problem with Sony Max and Wah for me, but later in the day it does get updated. I don't face issues with other channels.
Zee channels also have problem... Movie shown does not match the epg ..worst epg ever! Instead of channel thumbnail they are using program thumbnail which again is a joke because it never gets updated properly, even if updated the thumbnail does not match with proper movie

Correct. In many cases where the program name is visible, the thumbnail is used wrongly. Example: A movie called Naseeb. They use Amitabh Bachchan movie thumbnail and the movie on air will be Govinda’s (Both the movies have same name).

Sony Max yes, but lot many other channels also. You rarely get program names updated on South Indian or regional movie channels.
