Hello everyone,
I’ve been a long-time customer of ADTV. Previously, I had the HD box, which was great, especially for the EPG—as it displayed program names accurately.
When the Airtel Xstream Box (first model) was launched, I upgraded right away, and initially, the EPG used to work just fine.
However, for much more than a year now with my Airtel Xstream Box 3 (silver version), the EPG has been a major disappointment. Most channels don’t display the program names. On movie channels, for instance, it just says “movie” with no further details.
Back when I used Tata Sky (>17 years back, before switching to DishTV, followed by ADTV), I had the best experience with their EPG. It provided accurate program names and synopses on all channels, and for Hindi GECs, it even showed detailed episode-wise summaries. It was fantastic!
So, my question is: is this problem only in Airtel Xstream Box or is it the same in all the boxes of Airtel? If it is the same everywhere, who’s responsible for this issue? Is it Airtel neglecting EPG updates, or is it usually done by the broadcasters? I’d appreciate your insights!
