Chennai : Eros International Media Ltd to release 'Uttama Villain', upcoming movie of Kamal Haasan. The company today announced its association with N Linguamy's Thirrupathi Brothers Media Pvt Ltd to release the movie.
Uttama Villain is expected to be released on April 2.
Eros will also release Shiva Karthikeyan's Rajini Murugan which is also produced by Thirrupathi Brothers Media.
Eros earlier released the Rajinikanth starrer ''Lingaa'' and the company is hoping to acquire some big budget movies in the near future. Market sources speculate that 'Lingaa's failure issue is likely to impact the release of ''Uttama Villan''
Lingaa which doomed in the box office caused huge losses to the Theatre owners and local distributors and they were requesting the producers to compensate the losses. Lingaa producer 'Rockline Venkatesh' sought the help of Eros to support him in compensating the distributors.
The trade body of distributors are hoping that the Lingaa issue will be sorted out before the release of ''Uttama Villain'', failing which will result in trouble for the releases of Uttama Villain as the trade bodies are known for its highhandedness in curbing the releases of banners which failed to compensate the losses of their members.
