ESPN is focusing on online, streaming and video-on-demand (VOD) sports programming, and with up-to-date apps essential to keep pace with the market, the network is launching a new platform for ESPN Play in Latin America to bring sport content to mobile screens.
The channel's service broadcasts over 6,500 live sportive events a year online, with a large catalogue of VOD content including the most successful ESPN shows. Enabling users to choose between several different matches broadcast at the same time or an events' live statistics, ESPN Play's app has achieved large success among sports fans.
The new app is only available for Android devices, the devices preferred by Latin Americans. The updated version has a new and more intuitive design which facilitates navigation, especially regarding VOD content.
