ETV Gujarati to tickle viewers’ funny
bone with new avatar

In a bid to connect with the Gujarati
viewer and his ethos, ETV Gujarati, the only
Gujarati general entertainment channel, is going
for a complete makeover with a brand new
tagline ‘Dil Thi Gujarati’ (Gujarati from the
heart).
Starting 3 November, ETV Gujarati will change its
positioning to a light-hearted comedy channel.
Overhauling its complete programming, ETV
Gujarati will have six new shows in the weekday
(Monday–Saturday) primetime (7–10 pm)
ranging from comic drama to social satire to
stand-up comedy to light-hearted and even over-
the-top comedy dramas.
ETV Gujarati, which was a hybrid channel (news
+ entertainment) till June this year, has been
airing just two fiction and two cookery shows.
While a revamp was long due (since its takeover
by TV18), the management was waiting for the
right time.

Being the only Gujarati entertainment channel,
the channel enjoys a 95 per cent penetration in
Gujarat and is part of base packs of almost all
the MSOs. It is available on GTPL (601), DEN
(586), Incable (571), and independent MSO
Dewshree (575).

On DTH, it is available on all the platforms
including Tata Sky (890), Airtel Digital TV (590),
Dish TV (890), Videocon d2h (935), Reliance
Digital TV (942) and Sun Direct (661).
Its RIO price for DAS platforms is Rs 5.37.
