Bengaluru : The No. 2 Kannada Satellite channel which is aspiring to be in the lime-light had bolstered its weekend offering with launch of two new mega non-fiction shows back to back during last weekend.
The channel has launched ''Maja Talkies'' - a Comedy show by Srujan Lokesh and ''Dancing Star 2'' - the dance reality show. Both the shows were launched on 7th February and scheduled to be aired on every Saturday and Sunday.
With the grand success of the first season of Dancing Star, the ETV Kannada has decided to go 'crazy' for its second season.... And what better way to do it by roping in none other than Crazy Star V.
Ravichandran himself as one of the three judges for the latest season along with the national award winning actress Priyamani and popular dancer Mrs Mayuri Dixit. Dancing Star 2, commenced last weekend, will be aired at 9pm onwards.
On the other hand ETV Kannada's ''Maja Talkies'' at 8 pm, launched just ahead of ''Dancing Star 2'' was inspired by the concept of Comedy Nights with Kapil, the Kannada GEC hopes to replicate its popularity with Maja Talkies also. The Comedy show was spearheaded by Srujan Lokesh, actor and son of veteran actor late Lokesh.
His team comprises of Shwetha Chengappa, Aparna, V. Manohar and others including star director Indrajit Lankesh taking the place of Siddhu in the Kannada version of Comedy Nights with Kapil.
However, Srujan who has shouldered to produce the programme maintains that though it is inspired by the popular Hindi version, Maja Talkies will be entirely different by not limiting to promote upcoming movie releases.
Talking on ''Dancing Star 2'' Crazy Star V. Ravichandran reveals that he accepted to be a part of the dance reality star as he has resolved to be in the limelight throughout 2015.
Around 12 participants from various fields will contest for the Dancing Star 2 are Anirudh, Chandrika, Maithriya, Harshika, Master Anand, Sinchana Dixit, Rajani, Master Ashwik, Vijaya Soorya, Sukrutha Nag and Karthik.
ETV Kannada, which has cemented its position as No.2 GEC by over taking Star India's ''Suvarna'' in Karnataka market is targeting for the numero -uno position with constant innovations and experiments.
