Seeking Help External HDD for Recording

Hello All, i am trying to connect a 500 GB HDD to my Dish Tv HD+ STB. But it not detecting the hard disk. I am trying another 1TB that is having some data, STB is detecting that drive but I don't want to use that. I bought a new one 500 GB but STB is not detecting that. Both HDD are working fine If I use with laptop. Can anybody help?

Check Format NTFS or FAT32 , try to format accordingly.

Once more thing try to format using stb provided option, check stb menu for manage disk option to format.
