Panaji: Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan was introduced as the first friend of FC Goa and chief minister Manohar Parrikar would be the second as the Goa franchise of the Indian Super League was launched in the city on Tuesday.
Within minutes of the launch, the FC Goa page on a popular social networking had hundreds of likes, providing a solid boost to the co-owners that the commercialisation of football is finally on its way.
The franchise also unveiled its logo which has the Indian gaur -- Goa's state animal -- standing out fiercely to protect its turf. But what made FC Goa stand out from the rest of the franchisees was the launch of a satellite television channel -- FC Goa TV -- the first by any Indian club. The channel will be telecast on Videocon D2H with exclusive and innovative programming.
