An unwritten commandment that ruled KFI (Kannada Film Industry) for years, seems to have come to an end.

The unwritten commandment was no dubbed movies in Kannada language would be exhibited in cinemas of Karnataka. While the people who were behind this had the intention of saving Kannada cinema from dying, little did they know that Yeh Public sab jaanti hai (The public knows everything). The public was not completely happy with this decision. Also it was illogical as many Kannada movies itself were dubbed into other Southern languages. However this commandment did not apply to double version movies.

Of late, many other South Indian movies such as Dear Comrade (Telugu), Oru Adaar Love (Malayalam), and more recently Kanchana 3 (Tamil and Telugu) are being dubbed in Kannada and are released in theatres. And people are even watching them.

Probably this was the biggest mistake, or blunder that KFI had made by shunning Kannada dubbed movies. They feared it could eat up the revenue of Kannada films made with local artistes. But if you look at film industries of other adjoining southern states, the dubbed movies in their respective languages have contributed bigger revenues at par with their own films.

But the question is will any channel telecast it

It would really great if channels like BBC Earth , Discovery , History ,NGC and other channels start dubbing the shows and provide us with Audio feed or a separate channel .. Kannada being the Forth most active language in Entertainment industry.

Thanks Viacom 18 for Audio Feed for their Kids Channel

There is a link below where we Kannadigas can support the cause
