Sad News Happy 12th (and final?) birthday, Jalsha Movies!

16 December 2012 was a very shameful day in Indian history, but I’m not going to discuss that here, obviously. Instead I’m going to highlight that Jalsha Movies was launched on that day. Advertised as ‘Banglar Shobcheye Boro Cinema Hall’ (Bengal’s biggest cinema hall), it remained the biggest Bengali movie channel — ahead of Zee Bangla Cinema, which was launched in September 2012 — and launched its HD feed on 14 April 2016 along with Star Jalsha.

Sadly, Jalsha Movies will soon come to an end after the CCI’s order to sell or close down the channel. This means that Colors Bangla Cinema, a much newer channel which doesn’t have an HD feed yet, will be the only surviving Bengali movie channel from JioStar. That also means that Jalsha Movies will never change its violet and pink graphics package even once — maintaining the same look from birth till death!

I know taking about ott it's not related here but jalsha movies lost charm after Sangeet bangla lost charm as untill Sangeet bangla promote movies and songs and jalsha movies showing that as wtp everything goes well but now people gets to listen songs in apps and too many bengali ott platform makes life difficult for jalsha movies. Hope jalsha movies and colours Bangla cinema merged and became one channel and in morning time showed cartoon from 11 am show movie and also try to grab more right like windows production movie as jalsha always like venkatesh flims production movies

I think still this graphics is better then other star movie sector channels especially vijay super it was rebrand in 2019 with poor graphics nd very bad logo design
